Where did it come from? This particular piece of Beech was reclaimed from a local forest in Oakland, NJ. The tree was reclaimed and acquired due because of the unique nature of the wood. Beech is a very versatile wood as it is used in everything from beer making (in the fermentation process), cheese making, musical instruments to firewood. This piece has a beautiful unique grain pattern derived from the wood and spalting (initial stages of decay).
