However, after a quarter-century of working as a carpenter and contractor, Doug made a bold decision to pursue his true passion—woodworking. This career shift allowed him to dedicate his time to fulfilling his artistic inclinations. Gifted with the ability to assess a wood blank and envision the potential within, Doug's craftsmanship truly shines. As a genuine artisan, he allows the tools and wood to guide the creative process, resulting in exceptional final pieces. Doug’s preferred tool is the lathe, where he carves wood freehand without a pattern, this allows the wood to be skillfully transformed from a wood blank into exquisite sculptures, urns, bowls and turned boxes. However, Doug’s skill and creativity is boundless, he also designs and produces an array of custom items, ensuring a diverse range of offerings.
